Ontario and Toronto consider regulating short-term rentals

Ontario has formed a multi-ministry taskforce to consider the regulatory aspects of the sharing economy, including private home sharing. The City of Toronto executive committee has approved an initial staff report outlining the issues around private home sharing and the growth of online booking sites, such as Airbnb. City staff will completed consultations with interested parties and prepare draft regulations by Spring 2017. FOBBA has met with and made submissions to the province and the city. We have also been in touch with a number of other Ontario municipalities. For a summary of our submission to the province, click on the photo to the left.

Traveling to Canada?

Since June 2009, everyone from every country arriving in Canada by air, land and sea has needed a passport or equivalent travel document. (Some exceptions apply to children's passport requirements).  Besides an up-to-date passport, visitors may instead have an equivalent travel document, such as a NEXUS Card.
