Portage Place Bed and Breakfast is an open concept home located on a quiet well-treed lot on the Petawawa River, access to flat water upstream and fast water downsteam. Our home offers guests security and privacy in one of our two comfortably appointed bedrooms. There is a six person hot tub in a screened porch area for our guests' enjoyment. We serve full course, heart healthy meals in our dining room or the screen porch which both have scenic views of the river.
Portage Place Bed and Breakfast is open year round and since we are situated close to Algonquin Park, white water rafting, snowmobile and cross-country trails, CFB Petawawa, Atomic Energy of Canada it's an all season paradise. Some of the many events and attractions during the year include Cabin Fever or Snowspree in January; Silver Spoon Ski Races or Ice Fishing Derby in February; Spring Fling Arts Festival in May; Civic Centre Days in June; the Fresh Air Series on the Evergreen Stage at the Millennium Trail in June, July or August; the Waterfront Festival in August; Fiddle & Stepdance Festival from late August to Labour Day; Leisure Days or Rural Ramble in September; Oktoberfest, Festival of Trees or the Silver Stick Hockey Tournament in November. We offer year round hospitality if you want a friendly home as a business traveler, a snowmobiler, a white water enthusiast, a hiker, cross-country skier, Canoeist, kayaker or are just passing through.

Bed & Breakfast DirectionsFive hours from Toronto and approximately midway between Ottawa and North Bay, to get to Portage Place B&B turn south off Highway 17 at Murphy Road (away from Petawawa townsite). At the end of Murphy Road turn left onto Rantz Road. Portage Place is at 928 Rantz Road, 4 km from Highway 17.
