Your host and house owner, Geoffrey Pimblett, is very much like John Cleese, Pimblett's Rest, Bed & Breakfast is a veritable "FAWLTY TOWERS'.
Also known as 'The End House' this 1860's home is located Right Down Town
Toronto in the historical area known as 'Cabbagetown'.
Restored to provide all mod-cons and comforts, modern plumbing,central
heating, air conditioning and a conversion from gas to electric lighting.
Most of the old world charm has been retained:
* The Victorian kitchen with coke oven, washer and mangle.
* The Walnut Panelled Breakfast room displaying the owners tea pot
collection.
* The Library with British and American literature, mahogony fireplace and
more tea pots.
* The Front Hall with a resplendent French ormalou chrystal chandalier and
an 1890s Jaques and Hayse coat stand, and dinner gong.
* Each bedroom has its own charm, using many out of print wallpapers and
certainly out of date furnishings and Pimblett's extensive Art Collection and
clutter.
The Breakfast room.
Full English Breakfast is served with cereal, porridge, kippers or bacon,
sausages and eggs, toast and special jams. Freshly ground and perked
coffee, Twinings Earl Grey tea or Darjeeling from your choice of tea pot, fruit
juices are also available.
Checking in time: NO LATER THAN 10.30 PM.
Checking out time before 11:00 AM. latest.
* Near all the down town Hospitals (Sick Kids, St Mikes, Toronto Central,
Mount Sinai, Princess Margarett's & Wellsley.
* Close to Downtown Shopping and the Theatre district.
* Parking is available at the rear of the house.
* Streetcars are within steps, leading to the TTC subway system.
Payment: Cash,travellers cheques, all major cards.
All rooms rates are subject to 7% G.S.T. (Federal Sales Tax.)
A deposit of one night is required on each room reserved. Deposit is forfeited if cancelled with less than 5 days notice.
Smoking outdoors on the Patio. Families welcome, children over 12 years of age. No pets, our (people friendly) dog won't allow other animals through the door.
