Our log home, built in 2001, is situated on the east side of Musselman Lake, about 7 minutes from the town of Stouffville. We are 20 minutes from the village of Unionville and Markham Main Street shoppes, and 45 minutes from downtown Toronto. We have two guest rooms. Both rooms are situated on the lower level of the house. The Lotus Room has a queen size bed with a closet and chests of drawers. The Tulip Room is a bit smaller and has a double bed. When both rooms are occupied, the occupants share a bathroom with shower facilities.
The main floor is a 900 sq ft open space encompassing the living room, dining room, the TV area, the piano lounge, and the kitchen. The open concept makes the whole living area bright. The large picture windows give a magnificent view of the lake and surrounding forest and wildlife areas. This area is fully accessible to the occupants during their stay at our facilities. Although the log house is cool in temperature, we have central air-conditioning and gas heating to compliment the comforts of the home.
Guests will have access to the sandy beach across the road. The lake offers good fishing such as large and small mouth bass, pike and crappie. It is clean and the water is usually not rough even on a windy day. Activities in the immediate area include boating, canoeing and kayaking, numerous public golf courses, driving ranges and batting cages, mini golf, para sailing and swimming. There are trails in the back woods or around the lake which take about 45 minutes to circumvent. Attractions include the popular weekend open Stouffville Country Market, the Great Blue Heron Casino (35 minutes away) and many restaurants that serve good meals at reasonable prices. The nearest restaurant is just 5 minutes away.
A full breakfast will be served, and coffee, tea and fruit are available to guests during their stay at no extra charge. A private barbecue and private area is available for guest use should they wish to prepare a simple dinner on their own.
Your hosts, Wendy and George, are world-wide travelers. One of the reasons for operating the B&B is to meet travelers from far and near so that they can exchange their experiences in vacationing and traveling.
