Debbie, Robert and David warmly welcome you to our beautiful, rural, family home. We offer a comfortable get away to the country from your busy day-to-day world, yet big city sights are only a short drive away.
Honor's Country House is our family home, built in 1920 in the prairie style, and has been featured on Doors Open Ontario. Our home is furnished with an ecclectic mix of family antiques and modern furnishings, which provide an elegant, yet comfortable and welcoming feel. The front room has a TV with DVD/VCR for your enjoyment, and a delicious full breakfast is served in the formal dining room or in the sun porch. Complimentary pop, water, tea or coffee are always available. Two comfortable rooms with private baths are upstairs. Guest areas are private from family areas of the house.
Honor's Country House is surrounded by beautiful gardens (featured on the Amherstburg Garden Tour) and pastoral countryside. Relax on the veranda, in the gazebo or by the pond and waterfall, or take a refreshing dip in the pool. We are surrounded by biking trails and quiet country roads that lead through farms and nature areas. Don't miss the nearby historic centre of Amherstburg, with its museums and galleries, fine restaurants and beautiful parks.
Summer Gardens-enjoy the gardens at the Honor's and other local pulic gardens and pretty garden shops. Make Honor's Country House your headquarters for the Amherstburg Garden Tour and Fair, May 26 and 27. Please call for information.
Birders, Honor's Country House makes your perfect base for observing the Spring and Fall bird migrations. We are only minutes from Holiday Beach for the Festival of Hawks in September.
Wineries- Honor's Country House is at the gateway to wine country, with beautiful country and lakeside drives to a multitude of fine wineries. Stay at Honor's Country House for the fabulous Shores of Erie Wine Festival in September.
Family History - Debbie is an accomplished genealogist, with a local reference collection. She will give assistance to those researching their family history.
