Bed & Breakfast Description

A boutique Inn and fine dining restaurant since the 1950's, The Athlone Inn was built in 1877 for Charles Leopold Parmenter, co-founder of the Parmenter & Bulloch Rivet Factory.  The current owners have taken great care to restore the grandeur of the home, including a display of historic memorabilia.  Beautiful architectural features include original gingerbread trim, unique carrara marble fireplaces, hardwood floors, chandelier medallions and ornate cast-iron radiator covers.

Nestled in the picturesque 1000 Islands, The Athlone Inn's atmosphere combines traditional sophistication with casual modern elegance.  The Inn features an intimate fine dining restaurant and garden patio with contemporary French cuisine.  Tempt your palate with the creative dinner menu and inspired daily specials prepared by Executive Chef and owner, Jason McMillan.  Expect fresh, local ingredients, innovative techniques and artful presentation.  The entire menu is also available for take out if you wish to have a lovely evening picnic at the waterfront!

Spend the night and relax in one of the Inn's spacious, air-conditioned guest rooms with luxurious feather duvets, cozy cotton towels and whirlpool tubs.  All guest rooms have a private ensuite bathroom.  A gourmet breakfast is always included the next morning in the dining room.

The Inn is just steps away from the 1000 Islands boat tours and many other Gananoque sites.  Consider taking in a show at The 1000 Islands Playhouse, which has two theatres offering fantastic nightly and matinee performances Tuesday through Sunday.

The Inn and dining room are open year round.  See you soon!
