Mapenzi Suite (Swahili “Beloved”), King
This African styled room has candle chandeliers, palm and banana trees, “wildlife” telescope, Kenyan paintings and more! Designed by Deborah, the inspiration of this suite came from her childhood years spent in Africa. With its soaring octagonal shape in the top of a tower, it reminded Deborah of the mud huts her neighbors lived in. The vivid colors were chosen as they reminded her of the deep sunsets on Lake Tanganyika and visiting with friends at their huts around their cooking fires enjoying the warmth of their hospitality. Whether looking out the at the scenic view of water and forest, or snuggling in the comfy king bed with the fireplace and a movie on, or soaking in the tub for two under the archway with the view, this suite has become one of our most popular honeymoon suites. Loving touches like the entranceway photos of views and wildlife from the Rift Valley in Kenya taken by Ruth Thorogood Deborah’s sister, or Erika’s elephants from Thailand trumpeting by the tub, or the original Kenyan paintings brought back by Deborah’s sister Christine Richmond after working in an NGO, or the paintings from Jamaica Deborah brought back after visiting a local market with dear friend Claudine Blake, or the palm trees that remind Deborah of days as a child where she looked out over Lake Tanganyika sitting under a palm and dreaming of what her life would be one day... this suite is filled with loving care and best wishes, for more dreams to be born here as guests find respite! Located: 2nd floor water view Contains: air jet tub for 2 in archway, electric fireplace, rain shower, drum sink, King dark brown leather sleigh bed with mosquito netting draping. Sleeps 2. No children in this suite please.
$220 or $180 offseason

Cameo Suite (Italian “Sculptured Jewel”), Queen
There is one framed print of a beautiful Mediterranean mansion by the water that inspired this room. When Erika looked at this art it begged the question, could we create a space that transported you there without the airfare? Erik saw the soaring arch open concept washroom in a magazine and rushed to trace out the pattern on cardboard and proceeded to build it. Prima Lighting http://www.primalighting.ca/index2.html helped us locate the perfect Bohemian Crystal Chandeliers (as they did for each unique chandelier throughout the inn). That’s when Erika with Cindy Hampson (Spice up your Space) came up with the color palette. It was in Port Perry’s boutique shop Adorn http://www.adornfinefurnishings.com/ that we found the imaginative white ornate carved mahogany bed, the crown draping, and the distressed white side table. Luke’s Country Store www.lukescountrystore.com had the incredible ivory suede chairs. Mom created the florals, designed the bedspread and pillows sewing them herself. Erik and Deborah found a nearby neighbor Willow Green Limited (stonehollowfarm@gmail.com) who sells the perfect recycled material year round outdoor furniture to enjoy the private balcony overlooking the water. With a gorgeous white marble fireplace from Direct Buy, http://www.directbuy.com/ this suite has since become our most photographed bridal and honeymoon suite, complete with his and hers stone vessel sinks, and soaker tub for two! Enjoy! Ask Erika who designed the blinds. She did a fabulous job! Located: 2nd floor Contains: olive tree, stone vessel sinks, air jet tub for 2 in arched plat-form in alcove overlooking water, Queen ivory carved bed. Sleeps 2. (No children in this suite please.)
